What our customers say.......

Get in touch

"Not only is she a great resource to learn from for person-centered planning, but she was also easy to learn from as a facilitator, and a trainer. I feel more equipped to work with and speak to the members of the community that I serve about their end of life plans, and how they can incorporate person-centered planning as they plan for the future with their loved one with Down syndrome."

Rachel Grimm

"Leigh Ann was gracious with her time, managed schedules and demonstrated natural leading qualities.  She invested her time , talent and was an opportunity treasure for a project and team that she had barely met. I consider Leigh Ann a colleague that I hold in high regard and truly look forward to more opportunities to engage with Leigh Ann on future human services endeavors."

Our Process

You are the customer. What works for you? Our process begins with a short, no-fee initial exploration of your needs and interests, followed by a proposed plan for you to review, with discussions around implementation. But let's chat! Something different might work better for you and we're happy to get creative.

InLeadS Consulting wants you to feel like you’re making headway….on whatever project matters to you. It may be a very personal project such as helping a parent transition care of their adult child with a disability to a sibling; or perhaps a family project related to helping put supports and advance care planning in place for a parent diagnosed with dementia; or it may be an organizational goal, such as ensuring a managed care plan's Care Coordinators are skilled in person centered approaches and advance care planning; or facilitation of a task force and stakeholder engagement, to produce data on an issue in your state.

Tell us what you’re aiming for, and we’ll help you convene, explore, gather and organize input, engage your stakeholders, and develop action plans to get there. It’s your story and your journey, and we’d love to be part of it!

1. Contact

Schedule time to meet with Leigh Ann,  review your unique needs and discuss a strategy for addressing the issue on which you're focused.

2. Develop A Plan

Do you need a one-time event or are we building a long-term approach? In-person activities? Virtual? Hybrid? As in any good person centered planning effort, this is your plan and you're the decision maker. InLeadS' role is develop an approach that addresses your needs and, with your input and involvement, support execution of that plan.

3. Implement

InLeadS is a small group of people who thrive with structure, but pride themselves on flexibility. Our goal is to achieve the outcomes for which you aim, but we recognize that pathway may meander. We also know it is easy to get caught up in the rigors of everyday work and life, so we'll include an accountability process for following up and nudging if it is helpful.

Our Story

InLeadS Consulting started as a part-time independent consultancy focused on the use of person centered practices in disability and aging services in the late 1990s, and became a full-time venture in 2021. Leigh Ann Kingsbury, MPA, and Gerontologist, is a recognized expert in using a person centered approach for disability and older adult services, and the owner and Principal Consultant of InLeadS Consulting.

People are the reason behind all of InLeadS work. Policy always affects people.

Our vision is that people who experience disability or age-related serious diagnoses are in charge of their lives and their decisions, all the way through the end of their lives, with support as needed and desired.

Our mission is to use person centered approaches to help people achieve meaningful lives, including meaningful end of life, while maintaining authority, self-determination, and autonomy.

We do this by supporting people and organizations to feel accomplished in working toward their goals by using a person centered practices framework to discover what matters, share experiences, listen for learning, plan and act, reflect on our outcomes, and adjust plans when needed. Policy always affects people; so we support policy development through the lens of people and families, providers, and policy makers.
